We are delighted to announce that we are presenting an employment law update with Extension Recruitment in September 2016.
Date: Thursday 29th September 2016
Time: 9am – 11.30am
Location: Yours Business Networks, 7-8 Delta Bank Road, Metro Riverside Business Park, NE11 9DJ
Claire Rolston (Founder and Lawyer, CLR Law) and Anna Lovett (Solicitor, CLR Law) will be providing an Employment Law update with a focus on holiday pay.
With the holiday season upon us, the thorny issue of how to calculate holiday pay is once again in the spotlight. We’ll take you through the string of recent case law and inform you of the current position both legally and practically, so that you are fully aware of the steps you need to take to remain compliant. We’ll also discuss the impact that Brexit will have on this difficult area of law – without getting into a political debate! – as much of the law derives from European case law.
The presentation will also cover the “reasonable steps” defence under the Equality Act 2010.
Did you know that there is a statutory defence to claims under the Equality Act 2010? Join us for this interesting and practical session on what the statutory defence is and what you need to do to ensure you can rely on it if an employee brings a discrimination claim against your organisation. This session is unmissable as being able to rely on the statutory defence could make the difference between the employee losing their claim or an uncapped pay out if they win.
CLR Law specialize in employment law and HR and pride themselves in providing no-nonsense practical advice. Claire and Anna are both qualified lawyers whose wealth of experience will provide a unique opportunity for you to gain advice and ask your own business related questions either as part of an open group or on a personal level as part of the networking section of the seminar.
If you would like more information on Extension Recruitment prior to the event please see their website.
As well as a presentation the session will include an opportunity for networking and refreshments.
